Finnish born Johanna Maki is a diverse musician, classically trained in violin and flute with a diploma in jazz singing from the Guildhall School of Music & Drama. She has performed with several highly regarded European orchestras and in 1998 was awarded 'Musician of the year' in Central Finland.

Johanna has a wealth of performance experience and has performed throughout Europe in such prestigious venues as Kensington Palace, Earls Court Exhibition Centre, Southwark Cathedral, New Wimbledon Theatre, Trinity House, Tower Hill, Nymphenburg Castle, Munich and Finlandia House, Helsinki. Cathedral at Zocalo Mexico City, Chateau de Bagnols Lyon and Hotel Cap Estel Cote d'Azur Monte Carlo.

As an accomplished musician Johanna has also played with orchestras such as Thames Festival Orchestra, Bainsfield String Quartet , Lahti Symphony Orchestra, Jyvaskyla Symphony Orchestra, Joensuu Symphony Orchestra, Avanti! Chamber Orchestra, Jyvaskyla Chamber Orchestra and has performed with Ruggiero Ricci, Viktoria Mullova, Karita Mattila, Leonidas Kavakos and Yehudi Menuhin.

Johanna has undertaken master class training with Norma Winstone, Mark Murphy, Billy Cobham and Tim Garland.

Johanna has also played in several jazz festivals and performs regularly on the London Jazz circuit.
