The Manchester String Quartet was formed in 2000 and made its city debut in 2003 giving a performance at the old University Music department's concert hall as guests of the Lindsay String Quartet in the Ida Carroll Lunchtime concert series. All four members are University Graduates and have all studied at the Royal Northern College of Music.
The Quartet has performed both throughout Britain and abroad, and recently gave a series of concerts in Zambia. In addition to classical repertoire the Manchester quartet have extensive experience providing music for functions, weddings and similar occasions with a wide repertoire of jazz, blues, pop, and Bollywood theme tune arrangements.
The Quartet has been professionally engaged at over 70 weddings in the last three years and they are happy to tailor their service to your needs. With over 15 arrangements of popular Bollywood theme tunes, the Manchester String Quartet can offer an alternative accompaniment to your party or wedding meal/service. They have performed these arrangements at many different functions, in restaurants, such as Sagnam 2 (Didsbury) and as part of civil ceremonies and they are always received with enthusiasm.
