Established in 1989, South London based Rogue Studios is the choice of hundreds of artists, at all levels of the industry. You will find a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, and our experienced staff, who are almost all professional musicians, can help you with your project, whatever the requirements.

Rogue has 3 rehearsal rooms with a choice of mirrors and carpeted or wooden floors on the ground floor, and a drum booth, which is available for drum/solo practice.

Rehearsal space can be as little as £7.50 per hour, with individual practice starting at £2.50 per hour.

Each room contains a 2K PA, microphones and backline for the session at an additional charge

Now most recording is digital, the temptation is to process all audio with software and forget our analogue friends. At Rogue, we try to keep a balance between digital and analogue, remembering that most of our favourite recordings were created on tape machines with old compressors.

We use a Soundtracs Megas 32:24:2 desk, and with individually wired channel strips you can hear the warmth being added before it goes to the computer.

We record via 2 x Nuendo AD DA Converters at 24bit to a PC running Logic Audio Platinum. The spec of the PC changes as often as the engineers change their pants, so trying to keep the site current is impossible. Needless to say, it can handle many tracks, with as many software instruments, reverbs & compressors as is realistically needed.

We have an extensive range of outboard equipment by Drawmer, Focusrite, dB, Symetrix, Alesis & Behringer as well as various software effects. We also have a PODxt Pro and a Boss GT6 for any guitar sounds required. Check our backline list as any of this can be used in the recording studio. Don't worry if your equipment isn't up to the job, just use ours!

Monitoring through Alesis Monitor One's and Two's as well as various other Hi Fi systems allows us to mix and master your project to the highest possible level. We have a small drum room, and all of our rehearsal rooms double up as live rooms, and different rooms achieve different results, so always call and we'll advise what is best for your sound.

We have a wide range of instruments in the building that can be used in sessions. We can provide drums, cymbals, guitars (including a lap steel!), bass, keyboards and some percussion. Please ask when booking if you have any specific requirements. We also have musicians available for any session work required. Need a drummer of guitarist? Let us know and we'll arrange them for you.

The vocal booth is made up of four rooms built inside each other, mounted on strips of rubber. This way you can ensure that the only thing recorded is what you want to be heard.

This room also doubles up as an amp room, so if you want to crank your 100w amp up full to achieve maximum valve saturation, feel free, you'll hardly hear it outside!

The double glazed window allows you to see into the control room, and the adjustable lighting provides the vibe necessary for a good vocal take.At Rogue we have an ever changing stock of microphones. Below is a list of some of our recording stock.

Studio time starts from £12.50 per hour without engineer.

Usual sessions are £22.50 per hour with a day rate of £200 monday to friday and when you work with our experienced engineers, producers and musicians we ensure your project will be a success. Price varies between engineers and seasonal deals sometimes apply. Contact us for a price for your recording needs.

facilities

Upstairs at Rogue you can buy drinks and food, watch DVD's, and use the internet either on our internet pc or on your own laptop via our wireless connection. If you arrive early or want to take a break you can chill out around our tables. If you need to buy accessories, e.g. strings, leads, picks, drumsticks etc. we have a shop located upstairs, stocked with most things a musician would need.

We also offer storage facilities, so if you need to come straight from work, or have a lot of equipment that is hard to transport, you can request a locked cupboard to keep your gear safely on site.

Downstairs we have a notice board for up and coming gigs, musicians wanted, for sale and anything else you may be interested in.

There is ample parking outside Rogue, and all rehearsal rooms are on the ground floor for easy access.

P.A Hire
Organising an corporate event? Doing a pub gig? Rogue can help you with your P.A. needs. We have several P.A. packages, ranging from 300w to 3.5K, with and without an engineer.

Our main P.A. package comes with a full set of mics (drums, guitars, vocals, brass etc..), 4 way monitoring, a full set of graphic EQ's for front of house and monitor sends, effects and compressors as well as delivery/collection and engineer. This starts at £325 As well as P.A. equipment, almost all of our backline is available for off site hire. Call us with the specifications for your event and we'll be happy to help. Hires longer than 3 days are subject to a discount.

Learn how to engineer and record your music at home at Rogue.

We are offering a two day intensive audio engineering course specifically designed for people who want to start producing their own studio quality recordings at home. The course, run over a weekend by two of Rogue's most experienced engineers, combines both a hands on recording and mixing along with important music technology theory.

Over the two days you will have the opportunity to experience everything from micing up a full drum kit to mixing and mastering a track which you have recorded. The course covers both Audio and MIDI recording and introduces you to some important points which you need to know sound itself.
