Studio 1 has a recentley renovated, classic SSL 56 Channel E/G series and Studio 2 a 40/80 channel Amek Rembrandt. This complemented by an impressive of outboard equipment and microphones. In particular our ''Mic Amp Suite'' in Studio 1 features 24 channels of High End mic amps. You can record onto a choice of 2'' analogue, Pro-Tools HD or Radar-11

studio one |
|
Studio 1 is Livingston's flagship studio which is perfect for band recordings or indeed any project with a large proportion of "live" recording. It features our unique "MIC AMP SUITE" a collection of 24 high end mic.amps from Neve, API, Massenberg, Universal Audio and Focusrite. In addition all mic patching is on full size "Post Office" type jacks not Bantams as in most studios. This gives a more secure connection with better audio performance. The renovated recording area has a renowned Live Room, which is particularly popular with drummers, a large neutral area, a bright piano room and 2 separate booths all laid out so that there is good visual contact between each area. Loading is from the car park at ground level.
The console is a classic SSL 56 channel E-series with G automation and 3.5" disc drives. It is unique and has custom Black Knob EQ. with curves specified by Jerry Boys, Livingston's Studio Director and in demand Chief Engineer. The end result is recordings with a more "open" top end compared to normal SSL E\G-series recordings. The console has recently undergone a major renovation.
The control room is large(26' x 22') and there is a private lounge with daylight, satellite TV\video and a fridge. Midi is well supported with tie-lines all round the control room and into the recording areas. We can offer in-house a choice of ProTools, Analogue 2" Dolby SR or Radar-II. All systems are properly "plumbed in".There is plenty of outboard equipment for both mixing and recording.

studio two |
|
Studio 2 offers excellent value for money and features a 40 channel AMEK Rembrandt console with Recall, Virtual Dynamics & 80 automated inputs in Mix mode. The recording area (40' x 15') has 3 rooms, including a live room and a vocal booth. There is good visual contact between recording areas. It is perfect for most band recording, jazz projects and small orchestral line-ups.
Studio 2 clients can choose from Livingston's large selection of microphones. Midi is well provided for with tie-lines to all areas. Recording is onto a choice of ProTools, 2" analogue Dolby SR or Radar-II 24 bit digital.
The Control room is 18' x 14' plus a large machine room. There is lots of outboard gear with all the familiar names. Some clients even prefer mixing on the AMEK rather than the SSL. The studio has its own Private Lounge with daylight, TV/Video, fridge and easy ground floor access for loading.
