Australian born Daniella Ehrlich has a Master of Music from Manhattan School of Music and a Bachelor of Music and Diploma of Opera from Sydney Conservatorium of Music. She made her UK debut at Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival with Sciarrino’s one-woman opera, Infinito Nero for Almeida Opera. This was followed by roles for Aldeburgh Festival, in three operas commissioned by Almeida, through Genesis Opera Projects before joining WNO in August 2004.
She has performed with Holland Park Opera, Aix-en-Provence Festival, Opera Australia, Brooklyn Opera and Sydney Symphony Orchestra and at Sydney Festival, Israel Vocal Arts Institute and International Vocal Arts, Chiari.
Roles include Maddalena Rigoletto (for WNO), Flora La traviata, Mercedes and title role Carmen, Tolomeo Giulio Cesare, Bertarido Rodelinda, Forrester’s Wife Cunning Little Vixen, Hansel Hansel and Gretel, Third Maid Elektra, Polly Beggar’s Opera, Third Lady Magic Flute, Melanto and Ericlea Il ritorno d’Ulisse and title role in L’Enfant et les Sortilèges.
In concert she has performed Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony, Mozart’s Requiem, Vivaldi Gloria, Handel Messiah and Dvořák and Pergolesi Stabat Mater. Daniella is a founding member and performer with Operacatz, a dynamic corporate entertainment group.
